When creating a post on Viva Engage, the post can either be uploaded to a community or to a storyline. Depending on where you choose to post, the audience that can see and interact with your post differs.
Posting to a Community
If you post to a community, the audience of the post can vary based on if you are posting to a public community or a private community.
If you are posting to a public community, anyone within your organisation who has access to Viva Engage will be able to see and interact with your post. Even if they are not a member of the community.
If you are posting to a private community, your post can only be seen by approved members of the community. As if users request to join the community that your post is a part of, they will need to be approved by a community admin.
Posting to a Storyline
If you post to your storyline, the post will be visible to all Viva Engage users within your organisation. However it is most likely to be seen by people who follow your account as these posts will appear within their personalized storyline feed. Based on your followers settings, they may even receive notifications for your storyline posts.
If a storyline post you have created is trending within your organisations Viva Engage, it may appear in the general storyline feed, even for users who don't follow you.
The only people on Viva Engage who cannot view your Storyline posts in some way are guest users (external collaborators.) As they do not have access to storyline content and do not have their own storyline.
