Announcement Posts

Announcements are a special type of post that can be created on Viva Engage by specific groups of users. Creating an announcement requires the poster to have Viva Engage premium. Which means they must be assigned either a Viva Suite or Employee Communications and Communities license. Users do not need either of these licenses to view an announcement post.

Community Announcements

Community announcements can only be created by admins of the community that they are posting an announcement within. This announcement will be sent to all members of the community, appear in their Viva Engage inbox and may trigger a push notification based on the users settings.

The announcement will appear with a special emphasis within the community feed marking it as an announcement. It will also be prioritised within the communities feed and will be pushed to users over other posts.

Storyline Announcements

Storyline announcements can be created by Leaders, their delegates or corporate communicators. They can be targeted to a custom audience, allowing for the poster to choose exactly who will be notified of their post. They can also choose to post the announcement to the entire organisations. (Only if Org-wide announcements are enabled within admin settings.)
