To upload a user file, go to the Blink admin page and navigate to the user tab. Once opened, click the bulk update button. This will open the file upload page.
- Click the "New update" button, this will open a menu with 3 options.
- Select the middle option "Import new users"
- Choose the groups you want these user to be uploaded into. Each group will appear as a column in the file.
After you have made your selections and clicked next. The file template will generate and be downloaded. You must then open the template with a spreadsheet editor (Ex. Microsoft Excel).
Once opened, you can start adding information for the users you are about to upload. Note that there is some required fields that users will fail to be uploaded if not populated. Required fields are as follows:
- Email/phone number
- First name/Last name
Formatting note: Mobile phone numbers must be entered in an international format and dates must be entered as YYYY-MM-DD.
To assign users to any of the selected groups, simply enter an "X" into that groups column within the row for that user.
After all the data you wish to upload has been entered, return to Blink and go back to the imports page. You will then have to attach the file you have created and enter a name of the user upload. We recommend making up a format for these files that will help you track them for future reference. For example, including the date of the upload along side a keyword related to the users being uploaded.
Once this has been done, the only other thing you need to do is click upload. If you have filled all information out correctly, then the users should now be added to Blink!
