When integrating with Outlook and SharePoint, is our data uploaded to an external server?
No. When you search for documents via an integration such as SharePoint, Workvivo is simply surfacing those files from your system to display on the platform — the files are not uploaded to an external Workvivo server.
Can we link only the Outlook Calendar and not enable email or file search?
Yes. In the admin panel, when enabling the Microsoft 365 integration you can toggle off OneDrive (search), Mail and SharePoint, leaving only the Outlook Calendar.
Does Microsoft data classification apply to files resurfaced in Workvivo?
Yes. If a document in SharePoint has a permission and a user who doesn’t fall within that permission searches for it in Workvivo, it will appear in results but they cannot open it. Any settings applied to documents in SharePoint are respected in Workvivo.
Does SharePoint search match file names only, or content too?
Search matches file names, and with SharePoint content search enabled you can also search for keywords within the content of your files.
Whose SharePoint does the search cover?
It searches the individual user’s connected SharePoint.
